1. What do you see in this piece of Art?
In my art I see a girl who is trying to be perfect like a porcelain doll. She is trying to be society's version of "perfect", but in fact, it is killing her inside to be the way she is/ looks. The doll in the back represents how she is trying to be perfect and trying to make herself better, when in fact she was beautiful in the first place. This is critiquing society and how they are trying to make girls change their image to impress the world around them. Media is portraying the way they think we should look, but they way they portray is dangerous and ridiculous.
2. What kind of message did you try to give in this piece of art?
The message I tried to give this piece of art, is that girls/ guys don't need to change the way they look to impress the world around them. People go on diets and are "photo shopped" to look the way they do in fashion shows and on magazines. Doing these kind of diets to make you skinny or lose wait is very dangerous and could potentially kill you. This piece of art shows how being a "porcelain doll" or going on diets to portray the medias view of perfect can kill your soul, personality, and eventually ... even yourself.
3. Do you like or dislike this piece of art? Why?
Yes I like this piece of art because it shows what following the media can do to you. Being like everyone else and following trends is not always a good thing. Being yourself is better than changing yourself to make people like you. I love the message of this piece of art and what it represents. Also,I Iike the colours I decided to use and the way the they stand out on the page. Finally, I like the porcelain doll in the back round, it makes the picture literal , but also makes you think of a deeper meaning to the art.
