Yearbook Design Reflection:

1. What Do You Like Most About Your Designs?
The thing I like most about my front cover is the eye. I like the way I added the brushes on it and made the colour black and white, with a punch of blue. This was my favourite page overall. The thing I like most about my art page is the way the pictures were arranged and the back round. I think the back round is creative and the pictures are arranged in a creative way. Finally, the thing I like most about my sport page, is the way I made the picture black and white, with punches of blue. This follows my concept and makes all of the pages flow together.

2. What Do You Think Could Be Improved About Your Designs?
The things I think could be improved about my designs is the opacity of my art back round. I think that this back round is to dark and doesn't stand out as much as I would have liked it to. Also, I would fix the grass on the sports page. I don't like how the grass blend into the back round. I would of rather had it stand out more in the back round, so you could see the soccer players better.

3.What Do You Think Makes Your Designs Unique And Competitive to Be Selected For the Real Yearbook Design?
I think my yearbook is creative and like no other one I have ever seen. I like how it is black and white with
punches of colour instead of just one or the other. I think people would appreciate the way it looks and the concept I chose. I believe mine is different, but creative and would relate to our school and our students. I love my overall design and I think it would be a great concept for a future yearbook at our school.

Year Book Ideas Relection:

The theme I want to create for my year book is the future. I want to put designs for the future on the in side and for the front cover I want to put what the future might look like to me. The colours I want to stick with are darks with punches of colour. Also, I want to have a picture of a planet or the earth on the front to show the space and futuristic theme.

Re - creation of Barabara Kruger Assignment

Barbara Kruger Relection:

1. What do you see in this piece of Art?

In my art I see a girl who is trying to be perfect like a porcelain doll. She is trying to be society's version of "perfect", but in fact, it is killing her inside to be the way she is/ looks. The doll in the back represents how she is trying to be perfect and trying to make herself better, when in fact she was beautiful in the first place. This is critiquing society and how they are trying to make girls change their image to impress the world around them. Media is portraying the way they think we should look, but they way they portray is dangerous and ridiculous.

2. What kind of message did you try to give in this piece of art?

The message I tried to give this piece of art, is that girls/ guys don't need to change the way they look to impress the world around them. People go on diets and are "photo shopped" to look the way they do in fashion shows and on magazines. Doing these kind of diets to make you skinny or lose wait is very dangerous and could potentially kill you. This piece of art shows how being a "porcelain doll" or going on diets to portray the medias view of perfect can kill your soul, personality, and eventually ... even yourself.

3.  Do you like or dislike this piece of art?  Why?

Yes I like this piece of art because it shows what following the media can do to you. Being like everyone else and following trends is not always a good thing. Being yourself is better than changing yourself to make people like you. I love the message of this piece of art and what it represents. Also,I Iike the colours I decided to use and the way the they stand out on the page. Finally, I like the porcelain doll in the back round, it makes the picture literal , but also makes you think of a deeper meaning to the art.
